What does 2015 mean for you?

Those who are familiar with JJES, will know that we like to take stock when a new year arrives and remind us all to revisit goals and set some new ones  for work, life and play.

Think about what you want to achieve this year: a promotion in title, greater exposure within your firm, to lead a special project or initiative, to add something specific to your resume (for example, people management experience), or, taking on a Chair position in your local LMA Chapter.  Really think about this and take an hour out of your week to sit quietly somewhere with a coffee and set these goals. You’ll find clarity when you do this and feel re-energized for the year ahead. And remember to incorporate some ‘fun’ to balance everything out.

 What are law firms going to be up to in 2015?

A question we have received in recent times is, whether law firms are still recruiting despite the traditionally quieter holiday months. The answer is undoubtedly “yes”.  Our clients are still busy and most legal marketers have been using the “quieter” months to get things done.

We all know that there have been shortages in many teams as more and more work is flowing through due to the market still being very competitive. This year in particular, law firms will need to get creative about where to get their marketing talent. More and more firms are open to talking to professional services marketers as they continue to battle with the talent shortage across the board. Law firms also need people who are invested in the law firm world and who know their markets inside and out. Whether it’s a regional role or a practice specific role, subject matter experts in their space will rule the legal marketing world in 2015.

2014 was an unprecedented year for JJES. This was proven by the addition of a third JJES team member in December 2014: Annie Berger who is based in New York. 2015 will be even bigger as law firms are continuing to grow and find new ways to market and increase market share. We can’t wait to share with you throughout the year what is top of mind for law firms and the topical issues that will enhance your knowledge.
